Congratulations!

For this fantastic game!
It has many great details i'd like to mention.
-The music was indeed very relaxing, setting a nice mood to the game, helping you chill and concentrate on the puzzle. Also did not seem repetitive at all, which is hard to manage.
-The design. It wasn't anything fancy, with tons of details. It was nice and simple. Easy colors to distinguish each piece. And everything perfectly clear. The interface, the menu, the "selection gizmo"... =) Having the axis show always the same color and rotate with the puzzle was also very nice. Making it quite player friendly, to put it one way.
-The controls. Just perfect! Completely intuitive. Giving the option of toggling between rotate or pull, or holding spacebar down for a quick movement/sight.
Also loved how it first let you easily choose what axis you were going to move the piece on, instead of just guessing and moving straight away.
-The programming. Very nice job here. Movement was smooth, menu worked perfectly. No jerks at all. A nice acceleration and deceleration when moving a piece. Pieces interacted perfectly, and as a bonus, we even got a little noise whenever the piece hit something. Seriously, kudos on this!
-And last but not least, the puzzles. Very entertaining. Very easy at first, but with a nice build up of complication. (Although in my opinion numbers 11,12,13 were harder than #14, but this is just a side note.) As other people have said, instead of making you frustrated, you felt determined to finish the puzzle, with the final objective of finishing the puzzle, and to feel 10 times as smart. ;)

All in all, this game deserves no less than 10/10, and 5/5. =)
Good luck and thanks for the game! Keep it up!

Cheers! ^^

PS: Sorry about the long review. =P

Lolzors! xD

Haha nice! xD
Liked the concept of making yourself the opponent. Quite entertaining.
And LMAO at beating hard mode xD. Ball punch and then BOOM! xDD
Rofl.

Anyways, nicely done, puts your reflexes to the challenge. The snapshots you took are good and movement doesn't look to jerky.
You get 8/10 and 5/5 from this critic :)

Cheers! ^^

lol

Haha not bad not bad :). Well, it's mildy interesting to get a score on your comp based on the fps of a supercharged flash vid lol.
Good idea. You get 4/5 and 7/10 from me ;).
Cheers ^^

PS: Oh and i got 70.259 :P

Well...

It's not anything really new or original. You did ok though.
Only thing you added as your own touch was clicking on the spider, but meh... it's not really one of those great touches of uniqueness.
So it's basically a game you would only play for a short while. And i don't think it would get anyone really hooked on it.

My advice:
Add some music. Having some cool music in the background would be helpful. But try to make it long, or change. When it's only one short music clip looped over and over you end up just wanting to mute it. (Add a mute option too, just in case ;) )

I also had an error when i got the score. Which was, i didn't get a score. I played in Normal to try it out. And when i beat it it said my score was: And there was simply no number showing my score, it was empty.

Anyways. You still did pretty good for it being your first flash game ;). So You get a 3/5 and 6/10 from me ;).
Cheers keep improving! ^_^

Not bad!

Unfortunately not particularly great either :S.
Lets see. Like Soilheart said, this game isn't particularly new. But we all know that ;).
It would have been nice to see a little more originality though.
I mean, you can see that you put work into this and that it wasn't easy to make. Making puzzles can be harder than actually solving them.

True it got my mind working. But after having beat a decent amount of levels and basically only finding buttons and nothing else, kind of dissapointed me.
People normally try to introduce some certain aspect that makes their game unique.
And yes, you added the Themes page. Changed sum graphics, that's cool don't get me wrong. But what such classic games like this really need is uniqueness in gameplay ;)

The graphics were good though. And the game worked smoothly. It surprised me though how in some levels you were supposed to "glitch" on purpose and kinda run through moving blocks.

As for the beginning of the game. I must agree that giving those instructions first thing before the menu isn't what's normally done. But once i'd read what it said, and seeing no "Continue" (or similar) button. First thing i thought of was hitting M. Don't think that's too hard a deduction to make really... But anyways.

As for the music. Well, it's OK really. The music's good. But after a while it gets pretty repetitive, as the music clips your looping aren't particularly long. And i ended up just muting it... :S. So see what you can do about that ;).

And one more thing. I think it would be a good idea to add a slightly more precise saving feature. Your theme system is ok. But if someone accidentally hits M, right before finishing a theme. Their pretty much doomed to beat the whole thing again. So a manual saving menu or automatic level by level save would be pretty nice :).

All in all, the games not bad. But not worth a great score either. You get a 6/10 and 3/5 from this critic.

Hope you find the review helpful. And keep it up. Some of your other games are quite good :)
Cheers! ^^

OctoFlash responds:

now THIS is finally is a helpful review! thanks a lot for those hints and tips, although i've heard many of them already...

i wish more people like you had taken the time to write something like this.
we'll make more AXIT parts and reviews like this help us improve things people don't like, this is why reviews like: "dumb. unoriginal. stupid" don't help me out.

so thanks again, although this was hard work we'll try to improve the next AXIT parts!

greetings

Amazing :)

I must say. This definitely was very funny from beginning to end.
Also kept me a good hour messing around with it.
I definitely appreciate seeing a windows spoof that really has had a LOT of effort and time put into it. I'm sure this took some serious coding as well.
The animation was sleek, being able to have several windows open at once, being able to drag them. Even move the icons on the desktop...

I've seen lots of windows spoofs and thought this was just gonna be one more... But you proved me wrong :). You did a great job on this whole project.
You get a 5/5 and 9/10 from this critic ;) (plus favorited). Keep up the good work!

Cheers :D

Not bad

Well the game idea isn't new, but the alien controlled thing is funny ;).
Well a few ideas. Maybe you shuld separate the walls a bit more, give the misile a little more space ;). That way in a way you'll make it easier for the player, but at the same time allowing you to add sumthing like a life system :). Even adding powerups and lives you can grab if you take a small detour :).
I did like the way the misile always pointed at the center tho, good job with that.
And maybe you shuld make the starting point stationary cus choosing the point creates a momentary lag just when you click on the place. Enough for you to quickly move the misile to the center without the walls making the misile exploed :).
All in all, for being you first ever game, it really isnt that bad :).
Just patch up on a few things, try to come up with some funky aliend devices to make it more complicated in a second version with more levels :).
So as a mouse controlled maze type of game, keep at it and I'm sure you'll get better =)

Cheers ^^

WOW

Wow this game is great lol.
Putting your mind to the test ^^.
Very imaginative i must say. And you say it's your first? If this is your first you've got a long and succesful way ahead of ya :). Just don't succumb to mediocrity like lots of other flash animators do and you'll do great :D.
I must say this really was a great piece of work :).
5/5, 10/10

Cheers keep it up ^^

Very nice represented!

I love the series for N64 and Gamecube. Ive got both of them, and i'm missing brawl but i rly want it.
And you my friend have done very well. i like your choiceof characters and the game had practically all the options Melee has. And that was a very positive surprise. You deserve a 10 fo your effort and this very well concieved game.

Let's give Cleod a round of applause!!! :D :D
